My family has been restoring period properties for many years. I have teamed up with my father who has both a wealth of knowledge and practical experience of building and restoring houses gained from his 45 years in the building trade.
Scavengers started from a need to refurbish my own home. I bought an Edwardian property that had all it's original features replaced and the heart and soul removed so I set about putting it back with the help of my family. Bit by bit we salvaged fireplaces, doors, a bath etc. and gave the house back it's character. As more of my friends bought property they began to ask if I could source vintage furniture or architectural salvage for their homes and the rest is history.
Many of our items are 'one offs' from a bygone era. Our stock is ever changing and although very diverse it has a common theme of craftsmanship from the 20th century. Given the current climate more people understand that recycling and reusing vintage is the way forward both financially and environmentally.
